5 Easy Ways To Save Money Fast

Saving money was always a priority for many of us. Just think why would you save money? What is your goal? Do you want that amazing dress, or maybe you want a new car? Or maybe you have something bigger on your list like buying a house.

Whatever it is, it’s worth trying to save some money.

I will teach you today how to save money when you think it’s nothing else to be cut down from the list.

Home made food.

Probably you might think like me: “I’m not a great cook.”- cause I’m not. But I’ve learnt. You can learn everything if you want. I’ve learnt how to eat on a budget and how to cook. And all of these helped me to save money. A ready meal bought from a supermarket cost at least £3.50 for one person, which means for a family of 4, that will cost £14. It’s a lot of money for only one meal. From the same supermarket you can buy some vegetables, meat, eggs, milk, cereals and you can prepare breakfast and at least 2 meals. We all know that homemade food is much healthier and is delicious. Just think how much money you can save.

Cleaning products.

I save most of the money from cleaning products. About 8-9 years ago I looked after an Indian patient with spinal cord injury and I’ve learnt a lot from his wife about saving money. She was an expert. She taught me how to use lemon and baking soda to clean the stainless steel sink. That’s all you need: rub the stainless steel sink with a sponge and baking soda and rinse with vinegar which will bubble and fizz. Vinegar also disinfects the surface. With lemon rub the sink again and then use a clean towel for a last touch. Your sink will shine again. You save lots of money and you don’t have to use chemicals in your house again.

I will dedicate an article to all the cleaning products substitutes and I will compare the prices. You won’t believe how much money you can save.

Buy in bulk.

If there is something that I hate the most is waiting: waiting for somebody to answer, waiting for public transport and recently waiting for hours in a queue at the supermarkets. Since the lockdown, I have started doing my shopping for a month or I just ordered online. It’s not just the discount that helps you to save money but also the fact that you don’t have to go shopping so often. I used to go twice a month before, and I used to buy at least one bag of items that weren’t on my list, just because it was 3 for 2 or buy 1 get 1 free, or just because I saw it.

Save money when eating out.

Time to time it is nice to eat out, but this should not be an impediment in saving money. I have saved lots of money with coupons. I always check saving websites to get coupons and discounts. And very important when you eat out: don’t buy the drinks from them. You can buy a bottle of water with maybe £1 from the shop but you will probably pay at least £2 in the restaurant for the same bottle of water. And try to go off-peak hours. Trust me! It’s much cheaper.

Sign up for loyalty cards.

I usually do shopping when I receive my loyalty cards. Probably you think it’s not much on these cards, but if you get even only £5 free on those cards, it's still better than nothing. With £5 you can buy enough vegetables to prepare a minestrone soup -you can find more details here or you can buy your favourite magazine which you are cutting down from the list. £5 is better than nothing.
